"Have you ever wondered what's going on inside your head?"

Inside Out 1 and 2 are movies produced by Disney/Pixar. They explore the mind of an American teenage girl called Riley Andersen as she navigates her life with her personified emotions manning the control panel in her brain. The colorful ensemble cast gives a lot of room for fun group dynamics, and it's a fun way of seeing how emotions bounce off one another - though it also shows that team building is essential in any workplace, fantastical or otherwise. Case in point: because of terrible workplace relations, some number of emotions get kicked out of Headquarters in both movies; it's up to them to traverse Riley's expansive and imaginative mind world to get back to HQ safely. Either they restore the status quo, or properly progress Riley's emotional maturity by maturing themselves through perilous adventures. Basically a fun time all around!

The world of Inside Out continues to expand with the spin-off series Dream Productions, which focuses on the dream film industry that apparently exists within each person's mind. It's also a fun time, though this fanpage is mostly focused on the main movies.

Personal Thoughts

The first movie changed my brain chemistry in every which way possible, no pun intended. The artstyle and general design principles are huge points of inspiration for my art, it helped me write ensemble casts a bit better (among many other of my interests with huge casts), one of my biggest original projects wouldn't exist without a certain inside out fan character, and it ultimately made me choose psychology as my college course. There's really no exaggerating how much I loooved this movie.

So, honestly I was a teensy bit worried about the second one, considering Pixar's track record with unimpressive sequels - some of which I honestly don't mind much, but Inside Out was a little different. Considering I've got the first movie near and dear to my heart even years later...I basically shrugged my shoulders and let it slide. If it released, then that's that, but I wasn't SUPER excited to watch it.

I ended up loving it anyways when I watched it and it forcibly threw me back to the Inside Out fandom. For someone who's been around both fandom eras, it's certainly been an interesting experience! It's fun to connect with old and new fans alike, though I've been a bit shy :')

the 1st one beats the 2nd one by JUST a smidge. It's substantially more important to my life, and the plot seems fresher than the 2nd. Though I'll say they both fumble sometimes with story choices but I digress LOL They're both such fun movies
